I need help with a specific cleanup question?
The QBO Cleanup Course is self-guided; however, you’re not on your own. We do provide support through our QBO Cleanup Student Group on Facebook and Cleanup Office Hours (see the screenshot below of your course header).
The Facebook group gives you access to other experienced members who can help brainstorm, troubleshoot, and offer solutions. Cleanup Office Hours provide the opportunity for individual support where you can get answers to your specific questions.
Note: We have transitioned from monthly coaching calls to office hours. All previous monthly coaching call replays are still available for you to watch anytime.

Why won't the final project load into QBO?
There have been changes made to QBO and we are not always able to update the videos to reflect the most current updates, as they happen without notice and often.
I recommend that you begin with a QBO Advanced subscription (which I know differs from the instructions in the video, but this is noted in the step-by-step instructions).
If there is an error while uploading the video, this is an issue with the QBO software. They have recommended that you first clear your cache and cookies, then restart your device. Once restarted, they recommend attempting to import the data again. In the event that this does not work, they recommend that you log into QBO using an incognito window on your browser. Because this is a software issue, we have little ability to provide support on the issue. For direct support, you can use the 'Help' icon while logged into the QBO account to connect with support.
Hopefully one of these helps to resolve the challenges.
I really messed up, can I start over on my final project?
It is mentioned in the Final Project that if you need a fresh start, importing your desktop file will completely replace your existing data, allowing you start over.

How do I change my email?
You must contact support to change your email. If you use a different email to purchase additional courses, this will create multiple accounts in your name. We then have to merge accounts and this can cause issues.
I'm not getting emails from Akadian. What should I do?
Search all email folders (Inbox, Spam, Junk, Promotions, Social, and Trash) for an email from Akadian or Margie. You can also type in your email search field 'Access Your Courses' or 'Welcome to the Skills Lab'.
If it's there, click mark ‘not spam’ or move to inbox
Then, once it's in your inbox please click reply and type ‘Received!’
These steps help your email provider recognize our messages as trusted and improve delivery of future emails.
If you have ever clicked unsubscribe, that has stopped all emails—including course information, account updates, and support responses. There is a link at the bottom of all emails to manage your email preferences or you can also click here.

How to Change Your Gmail Settings
I’m not seeing my courses that I purchased. Why?
All Akadian courses are accessed through your BooksMatch dashboard. If you don’t have access to a course, it usually means it was purchased using a different email address than the one you’re logged in with.
Search all email folders (Inbox, Spam, Junk, Promotions, Social, and Trash) for an email titled 'Access Your Courses'
or 'Welcome to the Skills Lab' from Akadian or Margie. The email address that received that message is the
one connected to that particular course.
If it's there, click mark ‘not spam’ or move to inbox
Then, once it's in your inbox please click reply and type ‘Received!’
These steps help your email provider recognize our messages as trusted and improve delivery of future emails.
Open that email and click the 'Access Your Courses' button to log into your BooksMatch dashboard.
If you’ve ever signed up using more than one email address, your courses may be split across multiple BooksMatch accounts. This is very common and can make it appear like content is missing when it’s actually connected to another email.
All courses must be under one account. If you believe you have multiple accounts, reach out to us and we’ll merge them so everything appears in one place.

How do I unsubscribe from certain Akadian emails?
Do not click unsubscribe. This WILL stop all emails—including course information, account updates, and support responses - instead click here to manage your email preferences. This manage preference link is also at the bottom of all our emails.
Where can I see my billing details or invoices?
Billing reminder notices for subscriptions and purchase receipts are sent to the email address used at purchase and will include a Customer Portal link. Search all email folders (Inbox, Spam, Junk, Promotions, Social, and Trash) to locate them.
Be sure to sign in using the same email address where you received these emails. In this portal, you can view your Payment History and Subscriptions.
NOTE: If you don’t see a course or subscription in your Customer Portal, it’s likely because you’ve used more than one email address in the past. This can create multiple Customer Portals, even if they now share the same email.
The links found in your emailed receipts or reminder notices will always take you to the correct portal for that specific course or subscription.
How do I update my payment method?
If a payment fails, the card on file may need to be updated for future subscription charges or purchases. You can do this through your Customer Portal.
Be sure to sign in using the email address where you receive your billing or purchase receipts and notices. The portal will be linked in those emails also.

To cancel a subscription, use the Customer Portal. You’ll need to sign in using the email address where you receive your billing receipts. The portal will be linked in those emails also.

Sample Company
The Sample Company is not working properly, what do I do?
Please remember the Sample Company is owned and controlled by Intuit, not Akadian. It is a gift that we need to be grateful for–though it can be frustrating at times when it is not working properly.
Always report all errors–every time–to Intuit. That’s the only way that they will receive notice that anything is wrong and needs to be fixed. To do this, click the gear icon and select Feedback. You can do this from within the Sample Company or, if you’re unable to login, from your own account.
Note: These tips are effective for resolving issues, but they likely will not permanently fix the problem. If the issue returns, simply revisit the steps as needed until it no longer occurs.
When writing in, be very specific about what you were doing when you received the error and precisely what the error was. You can attach a screen shot, or even better, paste in a loom recording. Note that Intuit refers to the Sample Company as the “Test Drive,” so be sure to use that term when writing in.
That said, here are a few specific errors we have noticed and how to fix them. Remember, even if you are able to fix them, you should report them to Intuit, so they know it happened and can address the root issue:
Make Sure You’re in the Sample Company (Not Your QBOA)
When you click a Sample Company link inside an exercise:
Option A: If you are already logged into QBOA:
→ Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon
→ Select Sample Company
→ This will log you out of your QBOA account.
Option B: Log out of your QBOA account first.
→ Then click the link. After completing the CAPTCHA, it should take you directly into the Sample Company.
⚠️ Important: You must be working inside a Sample Company environment to follow along in the exercises.
Index 1 Error
This error is a problem with the Intuit cookie. Delete all Intuit related cookies and you should be able to login. Margie walks through how to do that in Google Chrome here:

What Happened? Error
This is annoying, but it is usually resolved just by refreshing the screen.
Working with Craig at the Same Time Error
Unfortunately, we don’t know what causes this. The only way we have found to resolve it is to log out and log back in.
The Company "Craig's Design and Landscaping Services" is Missing
Some students have reported that when opening the Sample Company, the company name only says: “Sample Company”
If you do not see "Craig’s Design and Landscaping Services” displayed at the top:
→ Certain features used in the exercises may be missing -- see how to clear your cache in the 'When All Else Fails' tip below. This should resolve the issue.
Other Glitches
Beyond actual error messages, sometimes there are features that do not work properly in the Sample Company. Remember, this is not designed to be a fully functioning account.
Even so, always send feedback to Intuit. They actually do read it, and if enough people write in, they will actually do something about it.
If you notice that a feature has changed, is not working as expected and/or is different from the Akadian exercise, please let us know so that we can update our documents where necessary.
When All Else Fails
Load the Sample Company in an Incognito or Private window.
To open an Incognito window, hit Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) + shift + n on your keyboard → Copy (right-click → Copy Link Address) and paste (right-click → Paste) one of the test drive links below into the browser → Hit enter
If this works, it means that something is wrong with your local setup. First try deleting just the Intuit-related cookies as described above. If that did not do the trick, delete all your cache and cookies.
In Google Chrome, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of your browser → Click Delete Browsing Data → Check the box Cached images and files → Click Delete Data
If it does NOT work, the issue is with QBO itself. Send feedback.
If you do not want to delete all your cache and cookies, try a different browser. For example, if you’re using Chrome,
switch to Edge or Brave. As above, if it works, the problem is your local setup, not QBO.
Try a different network. For example, if you are on your regular wifi, switch to your mobile hotspot. If this works, that
means there is something wrong with your wifi setup.
Try the desktop app. Some students have reported a better experience with this.
Inside your QBOA/IAS account, click the gear icon in the upper right corner. Then under SETTINGS, click 'Get the desktop app'. Follow the download prompts.
Make sure you log out–don’t just close the window–when you are switching between versions.
Next to the gear icon, click your initials and select “Sign Out.”
Sometimes, the problem you’re experiencing is happening in live accounts as well. Other times, you may be able to
use your own account to click around to see how a feature is supposed to work.
If you’ve worked through these tips and are still unable to load the Sample Company, be sure you’ve submitted feedback to Intuit. From there, your next step is to contact their support team directly.

How do I change my email?
You must contact support to change your email. If you use a different email to purchase additional courses, this will create multiple accounts in your name. We then have to merge accounts and this can cause issues.
I'm not getting emails from Akadian. What should I do?

How to Change Your Gmail Settings
I’m not seeing my courses that I purchased. Why?
All Akadian courses are accessed through your BooksMatch dashboard. If you don’t have access to a course, it usually means it was purchased using a different email address than the one you’re logged in with.

Open that email and click the 'Access Your Courses' button to log into your BooksMatch dashboard.
If you’ve ever signed up using more than one email address, your courses may be split across multiple BooksMatch accounts. This is very common and can make it appear like content is missing when it’s actually connected to another email.
All courses must be under one account. If you believe you have multiple accounts, reach out to us and we’ll merge them so everything appears in one place.

Where can I see my billing details or invoices?
Billing reminder notices for subscriptions and purchase receipts are sent to the email address used at purchase and will include a Customer Portal link. Search all email folders (Inbox, Spam, Junk, Promotions, Social, and Trash) to locate them.
Be sure to sign in using the same email address where you received these emails. In this portal, you can view your Payment History and Subscriptions.

How do I update my payment method?
If a payment fails, the card on file may need to be updated for future subscription charges or purchases. You can do this through your Customer Portal.
